
PEGGY FLEMING
Peggy has played traditional music for most of her life. In her earlier years, she played Old Timey American music and in the 80s, she became more focused on Irish music, both as a singer and fiddler. Along with her husband Ken, she is a co-founder of the Southwest Celtic Music Association and North Texas Irish Festival. She has been a member of the New Dallas String Band, Tinker’s Dam, Waifs & Strays, Loose Change and is currently a member of Jigsaw, Lone Star Ceili Band and the Trinity Hall Session Players. Peggy teaches Irish fiddle in the Dallas area.
HEATHER GILMER
Heather Gilmer arrived in Texas from New England, where she discovered Irish music in 1994. In 1997 she moved to Austin, where she found a place to play music before she found a place to live. She has taken Irish fiddle classes with Seamus Connolly, Kevin Burke, Ben Lennon, Paul O'Shaughnessy, Tony DeMarco, and Matt Cranitch, and has almost completely recovered from classical training. She has been performing with various Celtic acts in Texas since 1998, has been the music and dance coordinator for the Austin Celtic Festival, and often plays for dance classes and workshops. DAVID LOVRIEN
David took up the Irish whistle a couple of years ago after many years as a professional classical, jazz and rock musician and composer. He proved himself a quick learner and was soon invited to join the Trinity Hall Session Players. David performs regularly with Irish band "Gallus" and also with the Dallas Wind Symphony, one of the only professional civilian wind bands in the world. His classical compositions are frequently heard on local classical radio (WRR-FM 101.1).
MIMI ROGERS
Mimi has played fiddle for contra dances since 1985 and is interested in several styles including Irish, New England, Old Time, French Canadian, and Cape Breton. Mimi can be heard performing with the bands Gallus, Happensdance, the Lone Star Ceili Band, the Trinity Hall Session Players and The Ragged Edge. She also founded and runs the Fiddler's Dream Music and Dance weekend at Lake Texoma.
GLENN STANDEFER
Glenn was living and staying out of trouble in Australia when he was introduced to the Irish fiddle ten years ago. At various points he played in several Perth bands and was also was a regular in the infamous Andy Hawkins’ session and at the Kidogo Arthouse session. In 2000, after a four-month stint in Ireland he moved to Austin, where he became a regular at local sessions and founded the high-energy band Tarbolton. A year later, he moved again to Dallas where he started several sessions and became an active participant in the Irish music scene there.
